One of the most challenging things facing our seniors is loneliness. In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it’s easy for those in the “sandwich generation” to forget how long the days can be for their loved ones living alone.
Loss of mobility, failing eyesight and hearing, and the loss of friends and families over time, leads to often desperately isolated lives. This video gives us a small peek at what it’s like for seniors living alone. If you have a friend, neighbor, or loved one who is living alone or is isolated due to mobility or transportation issues, please make the effort to reach out. Call, stop by for a visit, send a card or a note to let them know you’re thinking of them. You will never know just how much of a difference you can make in that person’s life. Tomorrow is never promised. You never know when it will be too late. Loneliness is a disease that is easily cured.
